In the midst of all these tough and stressful things, lots of companies big and small are making resources available to families to try to make these times a little easier. Here’s a round-up of what’s out there currently that I have used personally and can recommend. Do you know of a cool, free or discounted resource? Please add it in the comments!

Scholastic

Free articles, stories, videos and fun learning challenges.

Kiwi Crate

Kiwi Crate has created a free resource page with Daily DIY projects for kids, and tips for parents.

Sparkle Stories

These audio stories have been favorites around our house for many years. They are great for younger kiddos. They’ve put together a selection of free audio stories, and a page of crafts and recipes for homebound days.

Beast Academy

Use the code FlattenTheCurve at checkout to get $15 off a subscription (essentially one month free). Beast Academy Online is really, really good. They have animated videos to help with concepts if your kiddo doesn’t understand something and their format is fun AND challenging. They are also offering some of their printable puzzle packs for free via their Teachers Pay Teachers store.

LitWits

Get one LitWits literature kit free. Use code READFORFUN at checkout. These kits are AMAZING. I’ve been using them for our book club and they have so many wonderful ideas for getting into the books and getting kids thinking about what they are reading. They also come with writing exercises if you want to keep those writing skills sharp.

OwlCrate Jr

OwlCrate Jr is a subscription service that sends a middle grade book box out every month. Each box includes a middle grade book, a letter from the author, related activities and some book related goodies. My boys look forward to these boxes every month. Use the code CODEBREAKER15 to get 15% off your first order.
