Daily Plan

A plan. Not a schedule because, you know, life. Here’s how I’m planning for our days to go.

The Plan:

8:00-9:30 — Wake up, eat breakfast and do coffee and books.  We are reading the Wrinkle in Time series, and we’ll add in a bunch of science books from the Space Week post.  We may include some video clips that pertain to what we’re reading.

9:30-10:30 — Math/Writing

10:30-11:30ish — Outside play/bike riding/inside obstacle course building.

11:30 — Lunch/Free Time

12:30-2:00 — Quiet time in our rooms.  (Also known as Mom’s sanity break.) Puzzles, one player games, reading, podcast listening, snap circuits, etc.  We’ll be working our way through the podcast list from Space Week.  In reality - this will probably be an hour of quiet time and thirty minutes of picking up/chores.

2:00-2:30 — Mary’s Facebook Live World Challenge - each session “includes a calming activity to reduce stress, a fun body challenge to build the foundations we need (e.g. strength, balance, coordination) and a mindful activity that focuses on things like being present in the moment, being positive, empathy etc.”  She is running the challenge for the next 30 days and it’s only $7 for the whole month to participate.

2:30-4:00 — Games, family walk, more science, poetry teatime, family baking, art projects, programming (we like Bitsbox).

4:00-6:30 — Kids’ free time - screen time is on the table if chores are done. We’ll also throw bath time in here.

6:30-7:00 — Dinner

7:00-8:30 — Games, movies, episodes of the British Baking Show (we’re obsessed), family read-alouds - (right now we’re reading The Voyage of the Dawn Treader).

8:30-9:00 — Bedtime

Does this seem like too much?  Cait from My Little Poppies has a great simple homeschool schedule right here.  She is the brilliant mind behind coffee and books and has inspired my homeschooling in so many ways.
